Ridin' The Train
I'm not a fan of flying at all. I don't care about the statistics. However I do love the train and the ferry trip between Christchurch and Wellington. I wrote this song about one such trip. I took the train and ferry and my husband flew to Wellington.
Ridin' The Train - Music & Lyrics SL Miller
Chorus
I'm on this train, I’m on this train
Just cruising, watchin the world pass by
Sittin here relaxing, watchin land and sea
I’m on this train and it don’t bother me
Verse 1
I’m on my way to Wellington
I’m goin to see some friends up there
My man he won’t ride with me, he’s gonna fly instead
That don’t matter, I’m watching the scenery
Chorus
I'm on this train, I’m on this train
Just cruising, watchin the world pass by
Sittin here relaxing, watchin land and sea
I’m on this train and it don’t bother me
Verse 2
Hell I don’t fly, on them big planes
All that turbulence drives me insane
You won’t get me up there, in that big blue sky
Whenever I do, I think I’m gonna die
Chorus
I'm on this train, I’m on this train
Just cruising, watchin the world pass by
Sittin here relaxing, watchin land and sea
I’m on this train and it don’t bother me
Verse 3
New Zealands, so beautiful
Why would you wanna fly and miss it all
Rockin this train, is so peaceful
Sheep, sea and mountains, is what I want to see
Chorus
I'm on this train, I’m on this train
Just cruising, watchin the world pass by
Sittin here relaxing, watchin land and sea
I’m on this train and it don’t bother me
Verse 4
I’m on this boat, I’m on this boat,
Going through Queen Charlotte Sounds, I’m on this boat
Crossin Cook Strait, aboard Kaitaki
I’m on this boat and it don’t bother me
Crossin Cook Strait, aboard Kaitaki
I’m on this boat, it don’t bother me
