Bringing you home

It took me almost a year to write this song. I love gospel songs and wanted to write one. For me it had to be powerful, big notes and a dramatic ending. The whole choir sound. This is about the crucifixion of Christ.       NOTE: Hades is also referred to as the underworld

bringing you home - Music & Lyrics SL Miller

Verse 1

High on a hill, outside of Jerusalem

In a place called Calvary

The lord looked down, on his son

Said ‘Behold, I’m bringing you home

Adorned in a robe of purple

Crown of thorns upon his head

He refused the wine, endured instead

To suffer the cross, to free all of thee

Chorus

I’m bringing you home my son, bringing you home

To be at my side and to walk with me

I’m bringing you home

Verse 2

Betrayed by an apostle

Judas was his name

He sold his soul, for 30 coins

Guilt rid he took his own life

The lord said to his son

‘On the third day you’ll arise again’

I’ll ascend you into Heaven

You’re burden will redeem all of them

Chorus

I’m bringing you home my son, bringing you home

To be at my side and to walk with me

I’m bringing you home

Verse 3

On the third day the stone was open, but the tomb was bare

He appeared to Mary

Spread the word about your saviour,

Cause soon, I’m going home.

Way down in Hades, the spirits were set free

After forty days, he ascended above

Now forever at Gods right hand

Chorus

I’m bringing you home my son, bringing you home

To be at my side and to walk with me

I’m bringing you home

I’m bringing you home, I’m bringing you home

To be at my side and to walk with me

I’m bringing you home
